I was just another face in the intermingling crowd,
I was let down being pushed about;
But then I felt you standing next to me,
Holding my hand, you were there to help me out;
Like the beautiful angel supreme,
You spread your arms, gave me a reason to smile;
I was dejected, I had lost hope,
But walking with me, you made me proud;
At times I sat alone and cried,
none was there, all did hide,
But now I feel my life changing,
Because you are there right beside;
The sun had eclipsed behind the clouds,
My life cried rainy tears;
But now the sun brightly shines,
A rainbow with colours to bear;
From a starnger, you turned my friend,
A ray of light, my life depends;
I can laugh right with my heart,
'coz I am sure it's not the end;
I couldn't stand for long to face them;
I sold my soul, to the devil to pay them;
It was cold, the darkness shadowed,
But on the path you paved, my eyes did narrow;
Walking on with you, the destination seems close.
I gave them love, I sweat it out,
They killed my dreams before they sprout;
I hope, I request, I plead,
You are not one of them,
You won't make me weep;
You are my last chance,
A true friend in the making,
I stand next to you but my legs still shaking;
'coz if you betray me,
My life is doomed;
I'll be waiting for the axe to fall,
I hope if you ever desert me, the devil will see,
That without you, my life's hell to be;
But I'm scared the world might just pull you away,
So to them I kneel and pray,
I promise to be there when you need me;
I'll take the pains, I'll sweat it out,
I'll fight, give you the fame,
But I hope you fill my heart's empty frame.
I pray you are a true, honest and trustworthy friend,
I request, please - always, always, always....remain the same.
Beautiful. I'm not usually much of a poetry fan because I've found today's songwriters my poets of choice. However, this poem touched me and made me feel. Thank you.
